Himmatwali

Sudarshan Gautam is the first person in Nepal to star as a lead (“Hero”) in a major production by Rekha Films Pvt. Ltd. Through his groundbreaking role in the film Himmatwali, he challenged the traditional belief that a hero must be physically muscular or conventionally handsome, proving instead that talent, determination, and courage define true heroism—not physical strength.

For the first time in the Nepali film industry, the film carried the powerful slogan: “Disability is not an inability” and “I need a brain, not muscle.” Upon its release, Himmatwali became a blockbuster and created history in Nepali cinema.

Beyond film, Sudarshan Gautam is also the first Nepali artist to successfully summit Mount Everest, further establishing him as a national symbol of resilience, inspiration, and excellence.
